I think Daenerys lost too much. As soon as she helped John snow aka her nephew she started to loose and watch good friends of hers die as well as her dragons. Was she destined to be a mad ruler like her father? Maybe. I think in the end. The amount of lost and blood shed got to her. And she wanted to make damn sure the Lannister’s would never see power again.

This is a Greek tragedy of the first order. In the very first episode we learn about Jamie & Cercie are lovers, and twin siblings, and Bran is shoved out a high tower window. Daeneys death is no more shocking and actually better foreshadowed than Ned Starks was, or Caitlyn & Robbs death at the Red Wedding...or the poisoning of Joffrey. The writers were able to end this saga, when Martin has not been able to.

Well, Danny can't marry her nephew John. So why not burn the town to a crisp? Logical.

GoT has always been evil...I knew it but ignored my intuition. I’m glad the writers reminded me how diabolical they are and that I had no business watching the series in the first place. I REPENT, Father.

                    My predictions/humor/Spoof for GOT finale and thereafter;

Dany mirrors the "Mad King"...She's slain by Jon, goes to hell where she regularly plays pinnacle with Mad King,
Gregor, Sandor and the Night King.

Bran...When you think about it Bran is the perfect king to rule because
he knows and sees all. With Bran surrounded by wise counsel the 7 kingdoms may
finally find peace...(GRRM you can come out from under your bed now (where
                    you've been cringing all season).

Jon will "Take the black", move North and re-unite with
Ghost.  Jon will later enter and win the Iditarod with his team of dire

Arya will leave KL, and wander the 7 Seven Kingdoms (*see Gendry below).

Sansa will rule Winterfell, marry a red haired Wildling and start her
                    own "Farkle Family" (google it)

Torman will marry, have 16 children with Brien and open a martial arts

Grey Worm, and Unsullied will leave KL to follow Dany's wishes to
release slaves around the world.  He will later die of a heart attack
while trying to have sex with a football.

Dothraki and Drogon will go back to the grasslands and open a chain of
BBQ restaurants specializing in "Dragon roasted mutton".

Bron will serve as adviser to the king, and later open a string of
                    brothels in all seven kingdoms.

Jaime and Cersei having survived collapsed building will paddle their
way to Essos, where they open a chiropractic clinic & New Age Healing Center.

Samwell becomes Head Meister, and curator of what will later be known as
                    the Vatican Library.

Gendry will rule Storm's End, with occasional conjugal visits from Arya.

                    Good Night GOT...

Danny didn't go "mad queen" Everything she did is justified. She lost a dragon. 3/4 of her dothraki khalasar along with her beloved & most loyal ser jorah all defending the North but they still didn't trust her. John that obviously 'knos nothing' revealed his true identity leading to her trusted advisors conspiring against her. Her last loyal advisor and best friend missandei was beheaded. Her hand being Tyrion was screwing up a whole lot even going as far as revealing things behind her back. She had no option but to make them all fear her since her mercy has made her loose so much in westeros mercy became her weakness.

TheJevardo not denying that, but theres no reason to suggest she would do this. If I remember correctly, those were not innocent people, who stole her dragons.

I like the story, its just told so badly. We need more than 15 minutes if development after she finds out the truth about Jon (arguably the beginning of her madness), between her acting reasonable, and doing this. Having 10 episodes of season 8, and allowing certain situations and character arcs to fully flesh out would have solved everything wrong.

Interesting to do a frame by frame analysis of Daenerys' face at the beginning of this. Struggle/horror... then close to tears... then determination ... then surrender to madness. Then the "I'll show the bastards who's queen around here" expression as she takes off. Very good acting from Clarke. I would guess the last episode will open with Dany's face so we can see what to expect at the end. Is she repentant? Resigned? Still angry? Still insane? Whatever that first scene shows us is what will be dealt with in the finale. Dany is now (as if she wasn't always) the central character. What would be really interesting is if she dies early and something totally unexpected happens. It's sort of been set up that way because now every viewer hates her. Writers were very intent on making sure that's the way we would feel.

Remember the many evil things Cersei did including burning up people and her monster son and the things he did to women. The fans deserved to see her die brutally yet they ended her by showing a loving scene with her brother/lover before they were crushed yet some people hating Daenerys.

I think Danny's dark twist plotline makes sense. Showrunners rushed too much. Missandei should have been kept as a hostage by Cersei till the last moment. And after Danny obliterates the scorpions and Lannister defeat is imminent, Missandei could have been killed, that would push Danny off the edge of sanity. Also, one Rhaegal could have been killed this episode at the start of the battle, rather the stupid sneak attack in episode 804.

I just feel like the showrunners are bored with the show, and want to finish it off as quickly as possible.

So many sad because Danerys was not a Robin Hood in pig tails. Get over it. People who seek power are often insane or are made insane by the quest. The writers did not give us a fairy tale ending - "and they lived happily ever after." It is not lazy writing - it is creative writing.
Compare it to the USA saving the world from tyranny in WW II and then resorting to tactics that the Nazis practiced and sometimes pioneered - indefinite incarceration without trials, mind control, assassinations, false flags, raining death from the sky on innocent people, becoming best allies with thieves and murderers who took over an already occupied land.
In other words, forces for good often turn evil instead.

the writers put the idea that "there were signs all along" to cover up this ****-fest of a last season. Danny never killed innocent people. yes she is entitled and expects the soldiers (mind you, never civilians) to either obey or die as this is war ! If that is the case, everyone in GOT is a mad queen. She kills either for disobedience or if the character has personally tortured her or others (Her brother, the slave owner). And she was calmly waiting for the ringing of the bells to close it all. This BS about seeing the red keep drove her over the edge? - Like she didnt see the red keep all the while she was flying everywhere? DUMB ! I understand that is how george R martin has plotted the book. But for god sakes the writers need to give the writing some credibility. Not give an BS explanation in where Danny suddenly looses it. Arrrghhhhhhhhhhh I am too invested in a TV series lol

Epic fail by the writers. Dany exhibited brutal response to others' brutality over the years. They showed her protect herself and protect her people, often violently. But it was always a response of some kind. Never, ever "just because". She killed the wizard in the house of undying to protect herself and her dragons. She killed the khals to escape rape and imprisonment. She crucified the slave masters because they crucified children. She killed the Unsullied slave masters because they were POS that cut the junk off little boys. Burnt the Tarleys because they wouldn't bend the knee and acknowledge her rule. Now, out of the blue, after the bells ring to signify surrender, she goes Ted Bundy and mass murders a city? Puhleeze!

The show did NOTHING to lay the character arc groundwork for Dany to become an insane mass murderer. Dumb & Dumber rushed seasons 7 and 8 and failed miserably without Martin's books to guide them. Hacks.

Dany was always this character with a good heart thrown into the most violent part of the world and the books were full of subtleties about the differences between Essos and Westeros. Acting Westerosi in Essos was weak but acting Essosi looked like madness in the eyes of a Westerosi. That was always Dany's dilemma. Now I can believe that in the books her actions may seem mad in the eyes of Westerosi because she's been trained to be brutal by the ruthless people in Essos. But her becoming full crazy destroys everything GRRM has established with this character so far. Her Mereen storyline on the show proved that D&D have no clue what the author was going for. This turn of events is just disappointing from a storywriting point of view but she's hardly the only one who got the short stick. Night King, Jaime, Cersei, everything that happened in Essos, the religions and their gods... all of that was thrown to trash. None of it mattered and no character progression was respected. Instead we got tacky confrontations like Cleganebowl.
