I guess it all wrapped up nicely after all?

Edit: No. That’s not sarcasm. You people wouldn’t be happy no matter what they did because your expectations were so unrealistic. This was a good episode. Lets remember it wasn’t rushed. D&D slowed it down. They split up S7+S8. The last 13 episodes were supposed to be one, 10 episode season. Did you want Dany to sit at Dragonstone for 2 seasons doing absolutely nothing like she did in Mereen?

@Mateo12485 I said the same thing. Expectations were too high and the show got overhyped that no matter what HBO gave us, people wouldn't like it. I enjoyed this whole last season. It was great!

Lmao I love how ppl r saying got fans would never have been satisfied even though the MAJORITY would’ve been super happy w the ending if Daenerys literally just ruled over the seven kingdoms. And everyone needs to stfu abt DANY being a mad queen, just Bc she made one stupid poorly written mistake that made no sense whatsoever DOESNT mean she’s going to go around every kingdom killing everyone and burning down cities

    • Leah Nay
      Leah Nay  2 hours back

@Matthew Elias I agree, she seemed like a different character in 8x05 and 8x06, like the Dany I knew just died in the moment when she decided to burn the city of the very people she wanted to help before

    • Matthew Elias
      Matthew Elias  9 hours back

Leah Nay oh wow yeah that’s a very good point I completely agree with u I didn’t even think about it that way. I also think that yeah that wasn’t really her personality cuz she always wanted to avoid casualties and all of a sudden she wants to massacre cities ur 100% right

    • Leah Nay
      Leah Nay  15 hours back

She did say she would keep burning cities though: in her victory speech, she said the war was not over and told her armies that they "liberated" the people of King's Landing (the people they killed) and she would continue this "liberation" all over the word, including places like Dorne which had no slavery and had been hers since season 6x10 (is she saying she herself is the queen they need liberation from...? But she wants to be queen of the whole world now...).
She refused mercy for the people now, inclu. people who had done her no wrong. And that only she decides what's good (after she massacred a city), nobody else gets a say and she felt the massacre was necessary when it wasn't because King's Landing was hers once they surrendered.

It was rushed and sounded unlike her before 8x05 but this incarnation of Dany was pretty delusional and dangerous. I wish she accepted the surrender in 8x05 and didn't turn into this because I'd like to have seen her as queen.

At the end, Drogon looks to John like.

"There. That's your throne. You want it? Take it." Then leaves.

@Michel Veilleux Yeah, it seems (at least in the story's living memory since Aerys) to have brought out the worst in people (except for maybe poor Tommen).

@Michel Veilleux Fair enough! :) Agree about the "This is what you humans fight for?" narrative :)

My only quibble is that Dany wasn't killed for the throne -- but I think her draw to the throne definitely had an impact on her.

It is good that Drogon destroyed the throne. All this blood, chaos, war, and death over an ugly chair.

Jon is just a selfish traitor.. and all the starks are unthankful cunts.. after all dany did for them... jon killed dany because he was scared she would kill the starks... i mean.. dany was the rightful heir to the throne so when she arived.. the starks shouldve stepped aside.. but naah them greedy bitches wanted everything for themselves..

Since the Targaryens no longer held the throne, Dany is no longer the rightful heir to the throne. As for the Targaryen dynasty, Jon would have come before her as Jon is Rhaegar's son (even if he were female) _but_ Jon did abdicate in favour of Dany.
Jon gave his kingdom to Dany. The North marched south to help Dany take the throne at Jon's behest (but I did find the North ungrateful to Dany in general).
Dany would have been queen of everything now if she hadn't burned down a surrendered city, declared she "liberated" the people she killed, and swore to do it everywhere.
Nothing Dany did gives her a free pass to just keep killing.
(But personally, I'm sad it went this way too... I was rooting for her and Jon both....)

@123 idgaf her dad was a Tyrann who lost his throne to the stronger party. By the right of conquest, the same on which the whole targ dynasty was built, the throne belonged to the house Baratheon. But this doesn't mean shit anyways. All these claims are useless. But the worst scenario would have been a mass murdering pyromaniac as queen

Apparently the script doesn’t say Drogon burns the throne out of hatred because it got his mother killed but out of rage and hatred symbolising that he wants to “burn the entire world” as the thrones represents the world

Damn. This reminds me of the end of God Of War 4. Drogon could have ended Jon right there but he didn't, he knew that Jon did the right thing.
The author did a really beautiful job with this. The Targaryen coin flip, everyone thought that Dany landed on the right side up, and that she would become the greatest ruler. But no, that moment when she burned King's Landing, that's when everyone knew that her coin landed the wrong side up...

“Who has a better story than Bran the Broken?” Drogon Targaryen, the Last Targaryen. A Targaryen alone in the world is a terrible thing, and poor darling Drogon is a 7 year old child, who watched his brothers both die before him, and lost his mother in the end too.
Oh, and Drogon, you missed. The culprit was RIGHT there and you missed. Oh, Drogon, oh baby, oh darling.

I do not think Drogon blamed Jon for Daenerys death. She was corrupted by the throne of metal, blood and lies. So in the end that Throne, and its corrupted promise of power, was the true enemy that had to be destroyed. Corruption that brought Westeros to the edge of damnation.

I would be interested in a story about where Drogon goes from this point. Based on Drogon point of view.

It had to end somehow and that's what we got. Drogon lived and that's all I really cared about.
Go make your own ending to GOT if you're that unhappy. And if you were that unhappy with the last season you should have STOPPED watching it lol
Martin is no Tolkien... You all knew that and the show runners did what they could in the allotted time HBO gave them. Normally a series only gets 7 years not 8 seasons with a year hiatus... Smfh...

Every time I think about GOT or see any related video I feel this pain. This could be so much better. This could become the jewel of 21tg century. But it is just trash. I think this is a scar for life.
